Ranchi, June 23: In a shocking incident, a Muslim man - Tabrez Ansari- was attacked by a mob in Kharsawan district of Jharkhand on the suspicion of theft on June 18. The most tragic part was that he was beaten up by mob mercilessly for over 18 hours before being handed over to the police.

According to the videos, that are going viral, Tabrez Ansari can be seen beaten with a wooden stick as he begs the perpetrator to let him go. Also, another video shows that Tabrez being forced to chant "Jai Shri Ram" and "Jai Hanuman". The new eye-opening incident is an addition to Jharkhand mob lynching cases, that took place in the state in the last couple of years. Police sources said, as reported by India Today, that Ansari was handed over to them on June 18. But with his merciless thrashing by a mob for over 18 hours, he was taken to a hospital on June 22 after his condition worsened, following which he succumbed to injuries.

Ansari, popularly known as Sonu, used to work in Pune as a welder and a labourer. he had come to his village in Jharkhand's Kharsawan district to celebrate Eid with his family and talks of his marriage was going on.

Along with two men, Ansari left his village for Jamshedpur on the night of June 18, without knowing where he was taken to. Following the incident, state police arrested Pappu Mandal after Ansari's death. and filed an FIR in the Jharkhand lynching case and the search for the other accused is on.
