The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Kangana Ranaut has riled up controversy after her recent remarks against the farmer's protests. In an interview with Dainik Bhaskar, Ranaut made serious allegations, claiming that there was тАЬriotous violenceтАЭ during the farmersтАЩ protests. She stated, тАЬThere were rapes and murders as well. The central government withdrew the agricultural bills, otherwise these people had a long-term plan. They could have done anything in the country.тАЭ The Congress has targeted the Mandi MP for calling farmers "murderers" and "rapist." Ranaut further asserted that if the governmentтАЩs leadership had not been strong, тАЬPunjab would have become Bangladesh.тАЭ She praised her government, saying, тАЬWhat was happening in the name of the farmersтАЩ movement is not hidden from the country. During the movement, people were being killed and their bodies were being hanged.
