Ahmedabad, July 14: In a horrific incident on Sunday at Kankaria Adventure Park, two people have been confirmed dead and 29 injured after a Joyride broke down in Gujarat's Ahmedabad city. In the incident, several people have sustained critical injuries, who are admitted to LG Hospital. The Joyride crashed down with 31 persons on board at an amusement park in Kankaria Lake lawn in Maninagar.

Multiple videos of the incident are going viral on social media, which shows the joyride breaking down while swinging. According to the primary investigation, a cable bearing weight of the pendulum ride broke down following which it crashed to the concrete ground and fell apart. Following the incident, Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani office tweeted, "CM Shri @vijayrupanibjp orders immediate inquiry into the unfortunate incident of joyride collapse at Kankaria in Ahmedabad and assures strictest action against the responsible. CM also asks @AmdavadAMC to provide all the help and the best possible free treatment to the injured."

Former Gujarat Congress President Arjun Modhwadia targeted the state government for the privatisation of Kankaria lake and said, "Who has benefitted from privatisation of Kankaria Lake Fun Park? Did the @BJP4India Govt learn any lesson from previous incidents at Riverfront Park & Surat Tragedy? Who is responsible for this unfortunate mishap at Kankaria?"

Dr Rutvij Patel, Gujarat Bharatiya Janta Yuva Morcha (BJYM) President, said, "Deeply saddned to know about the incident inside balvatika amusement park, kankaria, Ahmedabad. My prayers with the families of those injured."

Vijay Nehra, the Ahmedabad municipal commissioner, visited the hospital to meet the injured. He said that an investigation will be launched and a First Information Report (FIR) will be registered against the ride owner for negligence in Kankaria Lake front.
