Lucknow, October 26: A 22-year-old law student was left critically injured after being attacked with sharp weapons following an argument at a medical store in Kanpur on Sunday, October 26. A case has been registered and a probe has been launched.

According to the NDTV report, the victim, identified as Abhijeet Singh Chandel, a first-year law student at Kanpur University, had visited the shop to purchase medicine when a dispute over the price broke out. The police said the shop attendant, Amar Singh, allegedly called his brother Vijay Singh, along with two others, Prince Raj Srivastava and Nikhil, who joined in the attack. The group reportedly struck Abhijeet on the head, causing him to collapse. They then attacked him with a sharp object, slitting open his stomach, before he attempted to flee.

As Abhijeet ran towards his home shouting for help, the attackers allegedly chased him and chopped off two of his fingers, police added. Abhijeet was taken to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition. Doctors said he required 14 stitches on his head in addition to the severe abdominal injuries. Police have registered a case and launched a search for the four accused.
