Karnataka: Couple Found Dead in Suspected Suicide Pact Following Family's Opposition in Chamarajanagar

A 19-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man were found dead in an apparent suicide pact in Chamarajanagar on Wednesday, police said. The incident occurred in Ponnachi village in Hanur taluk, where the couple had reportedly been staying after leaving their homes amid opposition from their families to their relationship. The deceased have been identified as Nadiya (19) and Nagendra (21), both residents of Palar village.

According to police, the two were in a relationship but had left home recently as their families did not approve of their marriage. Missing Complaint Filed

As Nadiya did not return home, her family began searching for her but were unable to trace her whereabouts. They subsequently filed a missing person complaint at the Male Mahadeshwara Betta Police Station. Police said the couple became aware of the complaint and were reportedly distressed over the possibility of police action and family intervention.

Investigators said the couple allegedly died by hanging inside a house in Ponnachi when no one else was present.
