At least five people were killed and over 20 others sustained injuries following a massive explosion at a firecracker manufacturing factory in Uttar Pradesh's Kaushambi district on Monday afternoon. The blast, which occurred under the Pipri police station area near the Manori power house, was so severe that it reduced the facility to debris and caused several nearby structures to collapse.

Kaushambi District Magistrate Amit Pal Sharma confirmed the deaths and stated that emergency rescue operations were immediately launched by police, fire brigade units, and nearby Air Force personnel. The explosion caused structural damage to five to six adjacent residential homes, complicating rescue work.
