Kerala TTE Arrested for Molesting Woman on Train, Held After Her Helpline Alert

A Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) was arrested on Saturday for allegedly molesting a female passenger aboard the Hazrat Nizamuddin–Thiruvananthapuram Express. The incident took place in a reservation coach between Thrissur and Vallathol Nagar. The accused has been identified as 47-year-old Shiju, a resident of Kadakkal in Kollam district. He is attached to the Railways’ Thiruvananthapuram division.

According to railway police, the victim immediately contacted emergency railway helpline numbers to report the assault. Initial police findings indicate that the accused was heavily intoxicated at the time of the incident. The incident has once again brought passenger security on night trains under scrutiny in the state. Railway officials confirmed that administrative action, including potential suspension pending investigation, will be initiated based on the final police report.
