A 19-year-old Class 12 student was found hanging from a tree in an orchard on Friday evening, just hours after the family of a minor girl filed a police complaint against him accusing him of assault and molestation, authorities confirmed on Saturday. According to the police, the girl's family had approached local authorities earlier in the day and submitted a formal complaint alongside a call to the emergency service helpline Dial 112, alleging that the student had misbehaved with and physically assaulted the girl.

The teenager had attended school on Friday morning before the allegations were brought forward. Later that evening, his body was discovered in an orchard located in the village.
