Several Locations Surveyed Before Lohagad
Police claim the accused initially surveyed several locations, including Tiger Point in Lonavala and Visapur Fort, before selecting Lohagad Fort as the alleged crime scene.
Investigators allege the duo exchanged photographs of potential locations and assessed which site would best support an accidental death narrative while minimizing the chances of leaving evidence.
Initial Plan Was Allegedly Different
According to police sources, Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary initially discussed causing serious injuries to Agarwal through a staged accident so that his wedding with Goyal could be postponed. Investigators claim the plan was later abandoned as being too risky, after which they allegedly decided to kill him.
Police also said the urgency to execute the alleged plan increased ahead of a scheduled Bali trip involving Agarwal and Goyal.
Investigation Continues
The accused remain in judicial custody while investigators continue to gather evidence. Police are examining digital records, online searches, and other material recovered during the investigation as part of their effort to establish the sequence of events leading to Agarwal's death.
