Kolkata Metro has announced a revised service schedule across multiple corridors in observance of Janmashtami on Friday, September 4. A total of 556 services will operate on the Blue, Green and Yellow Lines, while the Purple and Orange Lines will continue to run on their normal schedules.
Corridor-Wise Service Adjustments
The modifications apply to three key routes to accommodate passenger movement during the festival day. The Blue Line will operate the highest volume, running 252 services divided equally into 126 Up and 126 Down trains, compared to its standard weekday schedule. The Green Line will facilitate 212 services, comprising 106 Up and 106 Down trains. Meanwhile, the Yellow Line will operate 92 services, split evenly into 46 Up and 46 Down trains.
Operational Timings and Terminal Schedules
Despite the revised train counts on the Blue, Green, and Yellow Lines, the operational timings for the first and last trains across these corridors will remain unchanged. Commuters dependent on early morning departures or late-night services can do so according to the standard timetable.
Passengers traveling via the Purple and Orange Lines will experience no alterations, with regular services running throughout the day. Regular commuters are advised to verify their specific corridor timings ahead of travel.
