Before this, his mortal remains were kept at the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) from 10:30 am to 3:55 pm for public tributes. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde were among the mourners, and a grand procession accompanied his coffin, which was draped in the Indian flag and escorted by a guard of honour.
