The Maharashtra Chief Minister's Office (CMO) has issued a public advisory asking citizens to remain alert as heavy rainfall, flooding, and strong winds continue to affect several parts of the state.

In a post on X, the CMO said the state's disaster management machinery is fully geared up in view of the ongoing weather conditions. CMO Issues Advisory, Asks Citizens To Avoid Unnecessary Travel Amid Flood Threat

According to the advisory, heavy rainfall is expected in parts of Maharashtra, with strong winds that could reach speeds of up to 70 kmph in some areas. The CMO also said that the bridge over the Indrayani River at Charholi is currently submerged, making travel in the area unsafe. Citizens have been advised to avoid gathering near dams, riverbanks, and in Alandi to prevent overcrowding during the ongoing weather conditions.

The advisory further stated that disaster management cells at the district, taluka, and village levels are in constant coordination. It also highlighted the possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall and strong winds in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, along with moderate to heavy rainfall in the state's ghat areas.

The CMO urged people to avoid unnecessary travel, stay away from waterlogged roads and low-lying areas, and strictly follow instructions issued by the administration.
