Meerut: Social Media Influencer Stabbed to Death by Husband in UP Over Property Dispute
A property dispute escalated into violence on Friday when a 45-year-old beautician and social media influencer, Nisha Chauhan, was stabbed to death inside her home in Harra town, Uttar Pradesh. According to local police, Chauhan’s husband, Pradeep Kumar, attacked her following a heated argument regarding the ownership registry of a newly purchased plot of land.

Argument Over Land Ownership Turns Fatal
The incident took place on Friday morning in Harra town under the Sarurpur police station area. According to police, the couple had an argument over the registration of a recently purchased plot of land. Investigators said the victim, identified as Nisha Chauhan, wanted the property to be registered in her name as she had contributed a larger share of the money. Police alleged that her husband, Pradeep Kumar, suspected her intentions and feared she would claim ownership of the property.
Police said the argument escalated when the accused allegedly fetched a kitchen knife from the upper floor of the house and attacked Nisha, inflicting multiple stab wounds to her neck and wrist. Son Injured While Trying to Save Mother
According to investigators, the couple's 17-year-old son attempted to stop the assault and sustained minor injuries during the struggle. He then alerted neighbours for help. By the time residents reached the house, police said, the accused had allegedly stabbed himself in the chest and abdomen. He was taken to hospital, where he remains under treatment under police custody.
Forensic Team Begins Investigation
Senior police officials and a forensic team visited the crime scene after receiving information about the incident. The victim's body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and investigators are collecting forensic and other evidence as part of the probe. Police said a case has been registered and further legal proceedings are underway.
Nisha Chauhan was known locally as a beautician and had built a following on social media through videos and online content. She and Pradeep Kumar had been married for around 18 years and have three children. Police said Pradeep had previously worked as an air-conditioner mechanic in Dubai before returning to India about a year ago.
Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances leading to the fatal attack, with the alleged property dispute emerging as the primary motive at this stage.
