Upon noticing the infant inside the toilet commode, the visitor immediately alerted hospital security and medical staff, who subsequently notified local law enforcement.
A police team arrived at the scene shortly after receiving the complaint to secure the area and conduct an initial inquiry. The infant's body was recovered and sent for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact time and cause of death, as well as to establish if the baby was alive at birth. Investigators are currently scanning closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from the OPD wing and surrounding entry points of the hospital to identify anyone carrying the infant into the restroom facility.
In addition to examining video footage, the police are reviewing recent medical records from Cooper Hospital’s maternity ward, alongside neighboring clinics and delivery centers. A case has been initiated as authorities gather statements from the hospital’s security personnel, cleaning crew, and medical staff on duty during the timeframe of the incident.
