According to Central Railway officials, the cave-in was a direct result of excessive water flow washing away structural support following a downpour in the region. While regular train services have since resumed on both tracks, officials noted that residual delays on the Trans-Harbour corridor are expected to persist until normal scheduling intervals are fully restored.
