Acting on a confidential tip-off, investigators learned that Radiant Salon & Spa, located on the ground floor of Acharaj Tower, was allegedly running a s*x racket under the cover of providing massage services.
To verify the information, the Crime Branch deployed a decoy customer to the establishment. Once the illegal activity was confirmed, police teams conducted a raid on the facility in the presence of official witnesses. During the operation, police arrested the spa's operator, identified as 31-year-old Bhushan Nareshrao Waghmare, a resident of Ajay Nagar under the Ambazari police jurisdiction. Investigators allege that Waghmare lured women with monetary promises and forced them into the trade for financial gain. Authorities seized material worth approximately ₹36,000 during the raid, including ₹3,000 in cash, a mobile phone, a digital video recorder (DVR) box, and other incriminating evidence. The three rescued women were sent for a medical examination. Both the accused and the rescued individuals have been handed over to the Sadar Police Station for further legal proceedings. A case has been registered against Waghmare under Section 143(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Sections 3, 4, 5, and 7 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act (ITPA). Nagpur Police officials stated that they will continue to crack down on illegal operations disguised as wellness spas and massage parlors across the city.
