The death of a 23-year-old former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate in Rajkot has sparked allegations of murder, with her family accusing the married man she was living with of harassment, assault and ultimately killing her before staging the scene as a suicide.

Nandani Bosmia, a medical representative who had contested the Jetpur-Navagadh municipal elections on an AAP ticket, was found hanging in the hall of her flat on Monday evening. Emergency services were alerted, but she was declared dead on arrival by medical personnel.

Family Suspects Murder

The case has drawn attention after family members alleged that Bosmia had been in a turbulent live-in relationship with Aslam Hussain Sama, a married man from Junagadh, and had repeatedly complained of abuse and threats.

Bosmia's father told police that the couple had met when she was a tenant in a house owned by Sama in Junagadh. Their relationship later developed into a live-in arrangement in Rajkot. Haryana: Man Dies by Suicide During Video Call With Partner in Faridabad.

According to the family, the relationship had deteriorated in recent months as Sama allegedly continued to maintain ties with his wife despite living with Bosmia. Frequent arguments reportedly followed, and family members claimed the 23-year-old was subjected to physical assault.

Her father alleged that Bosmia had recently left the flat and stayed with relatives after another dispute but returned shortly before her death.

The family further claimed that Sama's relatives had previously attacked Bosmia in Junagadh and alleged she had faced sustained harassment from them. They have accused Sama of murdering her and hanging the body to make the death appear to be a suicide. Faridabad Shocker: Distraught Over Breakup, Man Uses Girlfriend’s Chunni To End Life in Haryana.

Body Found in Flat

Police said Bosmia was found hanging inside her fifth-floor flat after relatives were unable to contact her. Concerned by unanswered phone calls, family members asked an acquaintance to check on her. He allegedly found the flat door partially open and discovered her body inside.

The body was sent for post-mortem examination after police completed preliminary procedures at the scene. Rajkot Taluka Police have registered a case of accidental death and launched an investigation.

Police Investigation Underway

Officials said a doctor's preliminary examination pointed to death by hanging. However, in view of the family's allegations, a forensic post-mortem has also been conducted.

Investigators confirmed that Bosmia and Sama were in a live-in relationship and that the couple had a history of disputes. While the initial enquiry points towards suicide, police said all angles, including the family's allegations of foul play, are being examined. The final cause of death will be determined after forensic and post-mortem reports are received.
