Nu*e Video Call Centre Busted in Vadodara; Police Uncover Stripchat Racket Modus Operandi, Arrest Man
Vadodara police have busted an alleged nu*e video-call racket operating from a residential flat in Manjalpur and arrested 10th-pass man Manish Padhiyar. Police said women appeared on Stripchat and performed acts for customers, with earnings shared equally. Investigators are examining bank accounts, mobile phones and the wider network for other people involved.
Vadodara police have busted an alleged nu*e video-call racket operating from a residential flat in the Manjalpur area and arrested a 10th-pass man, identified as Manish Padhiyar. Police said women were allegedly brought to the flat and appeared online on the Stripchat app, where they performed various acts according to customers' demands.
Police arrested Padhiyar, who allegedly ran the operation from a third-floor flat in Manjalpur. According to police, the women and Padhiyar shared the earnings equally, with each receiving 50 per cent of the income. Police said Padhiyar had purchased the Vadodara flat for INR 11 lakh with money allegedly earned through the activity. Nu*e Video-Call Racket Modus Operandi
According to information provided by police, Padhiyar used the Stripchat app to connect women with customers. Customers recharged their accounts with amounts ranging from INR 500 to INR 5,000 and received coins in return.
Once a customer made a call after recharging, a woman appeared on the screen. The customer's coin balance decreased according to the amount of time spent on the app. Police said Padhiyar had previously run a call centre and allegedly involved a woman who had worked with him earlier. During questioning, police also found that a woman from Ghaziabad, who is studying to become an air hostess, was allegedly involved in the operation. Police are questioning her.
Police have started examining Padhiyar's bank accounts, mobile phone and the wider app network to determine the extent of the alleged operation. ACP Vimal Gamit said police received information that girls were being kept on rent in flats within the Manjalpur police station area. The women appeared online on an app called Stripchat, attracted customers and carried out various acts according to their demands.
According to Gamit, the women collected different amounts from customers in the form of tokens and transferred the money to Padhiyar's account. He took his commission from the money.
Based on the information, police registered a case against Padhiyar under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act and various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Police arrested him and are investigating how long he had been involved in the activity.
At present, Padhiyar is the only person arrested in the case. Police are also investigating whether other women were involved in the alleged operation.
ACP Gamit said police had not yet found any case of fraud or blackmail linked to the operation. However, after the racket came to light, police will also investigate whether anyone was defrauded or blackmailed. Police are now probing the involvement of other people and the network of customers connected to the alleged racket.
