Odisha Announces INR 20,000 Monthly Incentive for PG-Qualified Government Dentists

The Odisha Health and Family Welfare Department has announced a monthly incentive of INR 20,000 for dental surgeons serving under the Odisha Medical Services (Dental) Cadre who hold postgraduate qualifications from institutions recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC). The official notification, issued following concurrence from the Finance Department, comes into immediate effect.

Boosting Specialist Healthcare Services

Health Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling highlighted the administration's focus on healthcare expansion, stating, "Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, our government is encouraging post-graduate qualified dentists in government service and taking this important step to further strengthen specialist dental care in the state's public health system. This will certainly strengthen health services in the days ahead."

Strengthening Public Health Infrastructure

By offering regular salary enhancements alongside the additional monthly stipend, state authorities aim to retain high-level medical talent in public hospitals.Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi noted that the financial incentive will directly benefit the state's healthcare delivery framework by ensuring that advanced dental care and specialized services become more accessible to patients in public medical facilities throughout Odisha.
