West Singhbhum, March 28: In an unusual incident reported from Odisha, a woman gave birth to a baby on a moving train. The episode occurred on Wednesday on Ahmedabad- Howrah superfast express near West Singhbhum-Rourkela border, reported Hindustan Times. Notably, it was the fourth such incident reported under the Chakradharpur railway division since May 2017.

The 24-year-old Devika Party, along with husband, was coming from Gujarat's Bharuch district to West Singhbhum's Chakradharpur. Purty started feeling labour pain when the train reached near Bhalulata railway station. Along with some women co-passengers, she rushed to the toilet. According to reports, the Railway Police Force (RPF) and train staff and other passengers ensured their best service to the woman, The train was also halted for half an hour at Bhalulata station to ensure the safety of woman and infant. The duo were rushed to nearest railway hospital for medical assistance.

In December last year, a woman gave birth to a baby at Dadar railway station near Maharashtra's Mumbai. The woman gave birth to a boy. According to a report by news agency ANI, the 21-year-old woman, Geeta Deepak Wagare, gave birth while she, along with her husband, waited for a train to Pune.
