A two-hour standoff unfolded near the Tansa River in Maharashtra’s Palghar district on Tuesday evening after a woman climbed a 50-foot high-tension electricity transmission tower following a dispute with her married partner, who allegedly refused to marry her.

Police and family members spent nearly two hours trying to persuade her to come down safely, according to a Times of India report. The incident took place around 4 pm in Wada taluka. The woman remained on top of the tower despite repeated attempts by police and relatives to convince her to descend.
Woman Demands Marriage From Partner
According to police, the woman was allegedly in a relationship with a married man from the same village. Police said she had been insisting that the man leave his wife and marry her. When he refused, she allegedly threatened to jump from the tower. Lover Brought to the Spot
Police subsequently brought the woman's partner to the site. According to the report, he assured her that he would marry her and leave his wife. Following the assurance, the woman agreed to come down from the tower. Police Handle Situation
The incident occurred near the Tansa River, where the high-tension tower is located. Police officials managed the situation without any reported injury to the woman. The report did not mention any arrest in connection with the incident.
