Local authorities reported that the structure gave way suddenly while a substantial number of devotees were gathered beneath it for the programme. Emergency response teams rushed to the site immediately after the incident to initiate a coordinated rescue operation and extricate those trapped under the debris. According to Manwat Tehsildar Pandurang Mochewad, the injured were quickly transported to nearby medical facilities. At least six of the hospitalized victims are currently reported to be in critical condition, raising concerns that the death toll could potentially rise.
In the wake of the tragedy, Parbhani District Guardian Minister Meghana Bordikar expressed grief over the loss of lives and assured that the administration would provide all necessary financial assistance to the injured individuals and the families of the deceased victims. An investigation into the cause of the structural failure is expected.
