Kolkata, October 30: The West Bengal Pollution Control Board has launched an app to make every citizen aware of their responsibility to fight pollution. According to reports,  with the help of Paribesh App, citizens can now locate any environmental violation, take its photograph and upload it. Once uploaded, citizens can expect immediate action to be taken by the concerned authorities.

The Pollution Board is further organising a Green Puja contest through its Paribesh app during Durga Puja, to motivate the Pujo committees about spreading awareness pertaining to environmental issues. How to Participate in the Green Durga Puja Contest?

The Committees need to submit details on the use of loudspeakers, decorators, immersion details along with their respective ghats and details of awards received, if any, for the last three years. They need to fill in the details in a 15-point questionnaire for submitting their entry forms.

The contest will be open from October 2 till November 9. The three best pujas will receive an award of Rs 50,000, Rs 40,000 and Rs 30,000 respectively. Rs Rs 10,000 each would be given as consolation prize to 10 Puja committees. Lastly, the three best Paribesh volunteers will be given Rs 21,000, Rs 11,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively.
