Pune, July 11: In an unfortunate incident in Maharashtra, a man allegedly died by suicide after being harassed by his wife and her friend in Pune. The deceased was identified as Atul Kadam (39), a resident of Nana Peth. Police officials said that the alleged incident occurred on June 15, but a case was registered on July 9. The accused have been identified as Sonali Kadam (31) and her friend Krishna Shinde.
According to a report in the Free Press Journal, both Kadam and Shine are residents of Hadapsar. During the investigation, cops found that Atul and Sonali got married in 2015. Soon after their wedding, the two started having arguments. Later, Kadam learnt that his wife was friendly with her friend, Krishna Shinde. As there were constant fights with her husband, Sonali started to live at her maternal home, but later left her mother's house. Post this, she and Shinde both started harassing Kada, who ended his life by hanging himself at his home on June 15 after being fed up with the harassment.
The incident came to light after Kadam's mother, Madhuri Kadam, approached the Samarth Police Station and lodged a complaint. Confirming the incident, Umesh Gitte, SPI of Samarth Police Station, said that Sonali has been arrested. Gitte also said that they are investigating the exact cause behind Atul being harassed by Sonali and Shinde. "For the last few months, she had left her husband’s house situated at Nana Peth and started living in Hadapsar," he added. The SPI also said that Shinde, who is at large, will be arrested soon.
