Child Ran Onto Road
According to the report, Jempa was at his parents’ cosmetics shop in Indra Colony when the incident occurred at around 9 am. The child was reportedly playing inside the shop before suddenly running onto the road. His mother, Aarti Devi, followed him, but a Scorpio approaching from the direction of the main bus stand hit him. The vehicle allegedly dragged the child for around 10 feet before leaving the scene.
Family Rushed Child to Hospital
Jempa’s grandmother, Ansi Devi, who runs a bangle shop nearby, reached the spot and pulled the child from underneath the vehicle. The family took the critically injured boy to the district hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival, according to the reports. CCTV Captures Accident
The incident was recorded by a CCTV camera installed at a nearby shop. Police have seized the Scorpio and are searching for the driver, who reportedly fled after the accident. Police are examining the CCTV footage and other available evidence as part of the investigation.
Investigation Underway
Jempa was the only son of Shaitan Singh, who lives in Indra Colony with his family. Singh and his wife run a cosmetics shop near Sanchore’s main bus stand, around a kilometre from their home. The police investigation is underway to establish the circumstances of the crash and trace the driver involved in the incident.
