Samastipur: Neha Jha Arrested With 75 Litres of Liquor in 1st AC Coach, Police Probe Network (Video)

A woman, identified as Neha Jha, arrested with around 75 litres of liquor from the First AC coach of the Swatantrata Senani Express in Bihar’s Samastipur is being questioned over the alleged supply network behind the consignment. Police are also examining her links to Darbhanga and the background of her family as part of the ongoing investigation.

Neha Kumari, alias Neha Jha, was arrested after a joint team of the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Government Railway Police (GRP) and Crime Intelligence Bureau (CIB) searched the H-1 First AC coach at Samastipur station, Dainik Bhaskar reported. Neha Jha Arrested With 75 Litres of Liquor in 1st AC Coach in Bihar

Police said liquor of different brands, totalling around 75 litres, was recovered from bags and a briefcase belonging to Neha. According to police, Neha was allegedly travelling with the liquor consignment to Darbhanga, where it was reportedly intended to be delivered to certain people.

One of her sisters reportedly faces a liquor-related case in the district. Investigators are examining whether there are any links between those earlier allegations and the current case.

Neha’s father, Pankaj Kumar Jha, who works in agriculture, was also allegedly arrested in a liquor-related case around two years ago. Her mother works as an Anganwadi worker. Police, however, have not said that previous cases involving Neha’s family members establish her involvement in the current case.

Investigators are also examining claims about Neha’s alleged contacts with doctors and financially well-off individuals who may have been part of the suspected distribution network. Police said no previous criminal case against Neha has been found so far.

Officials are now working to determine whether the recovered liquor was being transported as part of a larger distribution operation and to identify any other people who may have been involved.

The investigation is continuing to determine the source of the liquor, its intended recipients and the possible involvement of others. The recovery was made during a coordinated search by railway security and police personnel at Samastipur station following information about the suspected consignment.
