Amroha, September 9: In a shocking case, a 25-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped in front of her husband by the armed assailants under Bachhraon police station limits. The incident took on Saturday, September 7, in Uttar Pradesh's Amroha district. The couple were returning home at night when the assailants attacked them and dragged the woman in a nearby field. The four assailants also shot the husband when he protested. The couple were heading back in an e-rickshaw after visiting a doctor in Bijnor's Chandpur area. According to police, "there is an old dispute between the two parties. FIR registered against 4 people. The investigation is underway, action will be taken." "Usman, Imamuddin, Rashid and Riazul from the same village stopped our e-rickshaw, robbed the driver and threatened him. He left us there and sped away because of fear," the survivor told the Times of India.

The woman told cops that she was raped at a gunpoint and her husband was shot and stabbed by the assailants. Meanwhile, the police have detained two people. A probe is underway.
