The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday, April 6, said that two Western disturbances in quick succession are likely to affect northwest India during the week, with peak intensity on April 7 and 8. "Isolated heavy rainfall likely over Kashmir valley on 07th; Himachal Pradesh on 8th April," IMD added. The weather agency further added that the wet spell with thunderstorm and lightning is very likely to continue over central, east and peninsular India till April 9, with isolated hailstorm over Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha on April 6; Bihar and Jharkhand on April 6 and 8. That said, the weather forecasting service Windy has not predicted any rainfall in Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad for today, April 7. However, 0.7 to 22 mm of rainfall has been projected for New Delhi. Similarly, Windy has predicted 0.3 mm of rain in Chennai, 0.3 to 0.7 mm of rain in Kolkata and 1.3 to 2 mm of rainfall in Shimla on Tuesday.
