Kolkata, December 23: West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar, who has been at loggerheads with the TMC government in the state, was shown black flags and asked to “go back” by students of Jadavpur University in Kolkata on Monday. The governor, who went to the college for convocation ceremony, was asked to “go back” and shown black flags by hundreds of students flanking the road through which his convoy was passing. This year the honorary doctorate degrees were to be conferred on former foreign secretary Salman Haider, poet Sabkha Ghosh, ISI director Sanghamitra Bandopadhyay and eminent scientist Professor CNR Rao.

Dhankhar has been at loggerheads with the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress government. He had recently criticised Banerjee for her Anti-Citizenship Amendment Act stand and said that she cannot stop implementation of CAA in the state.
