A 31-year-old man has been arrested in Kollam, Kerala, for allegedly uploading intimate videos of his wife on a p*rn websites and performing s*x acts in the presence of his four-year-old daughter. The accused, a native of Mayyanad, was apprehended by the Kottiyam police following a complaint lodged by his wife.
The arrest comes after allegations surfaced regarding the circulation of private videos recorded during the family's stay in the United Kingdom, alongside accusations of harassment and pressure to participate in "wife-swapping," news agency PTI reported. Uncovering of the Alleged Abuse
According to police sources cited by PTI, the couple, who had married six years ago after a love affair, had been living in the UK for the past four years. The matter came to light after friends informed the woman that explicit videos of her were circulating on adult websites.
Upon confronting her husband and checking his mobile phone, the woman reportedly discovered a video depicting him engaged in a s*xual act in the presence of their minor daughter. Following this discovery, the family returned to Kerala, where the accused underwent counseling for three days. Fresh Allegations and Hospitalisation
Police stated that despite the counseling session, the accused allegedly recorded another video performing a s*xual act in front of the child. When the woman questioned him about his actions, he allegedly physically assaulted her.
The victim was subsequently admitted to a local hospital, where police recorded her official statement and registered an initial case.
Police Probe and POCSO Charges
Following a preliminary examination of the video evidence, authorities registered a separate case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Although the accused initially went into hiding, police managed to track his location and place him under arrest.
Advocate Prasanth V. Kurup, representing the complainant, told PTI that the accused, an engineering dropout who had accompanied his wife to the UK, had repeatedly pressured her into wife-swapping, an offer she consistently refused.
The legal counsel also alleged initial procedural delays on the part of the local police during the preliminary stage of the investigation, noting that action was expedited after the victim’s team prepared to approach the Kerala High Court. Further investigation into the digital evidence and alleged physical assault is currently underway.
