Sandeep Bangre, City Superintendent of Police (CSP) of Murar Circle in Gwalior, said that the police received an FIR reporting the alleged murder and immediately sent a team to the spot. "We received an FIR reporting that Anand Srivastava had killed his wife in Tyagi Nagar. Police team reached the spot, secured the crime scene and questioned family members. The Police examined the crime spot and questioned family members to establish the sequence of events leading to the woman's death. Investigators are also gathering evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding the alleged murder. "The domestic dispute is being treated as a preliminary motive, and the investigation is continuing to establish what led to the incident," the CSP said. The alleged killing took place on Karwa Chauth, a Hindu festival during which married women traditionally observe a fast for the long life and well-being of their husbands. Police are investigating the case to establish the circumstances of the woman's death and determine the events preceding the alleged murder.
