New Delhi, October 3: A woman in Delhi alleged that she was raped by another woman but, however, failed to lodge a police complaint against the accused after the Supreme Court's landmark 377 verdict. Reports inform that the 19-year-old accused allegedly sodomised the 25-year old girl by using a sex toy and subjected her to continuous harassment. The incident is believed to be first of its kind as it comes days after the Supreme Court decriminalised homosexuality.

In September, the Constitution bench of the Apex Court unanimously decriminalised part of Section 377 of the IPC which criminalises consensual unnatural sex, saying it violated the right to equality. According to a report by News 18, the victim had come to Delhi from a state in eastern India for work. Describing her ordeal, she alleged that the accused woman raped her and subjected her to repeated sexual and physical assaults. Section 377 Verdict Highlights: Supreme Court Says Homosexuality No More A Crime, LGBT Community Has Same Rights As of Other Citizen.

The victim was quoted in the report saying that the police at the Seemapuri Police Station in Delhi refused to book the accused and urged her not to take it forward to the magistrate. The girl, however, took the complaint to the magistrate and now the statement of the accused has been recorded under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code on September 26 by a magistrate at the Karkardooma district court. Section 377 Partially Scrapped, Homosexuality Decriminalised by Supreme Court, CJI Dipak Misra Says 'I Am What I Am, So Take Me As I Am'.

The report informs that the victim faced trouble since March this year. She had quit her job in Gurgaon and had plans to invest in her own business firm. Since she needed partners, the victim was advised to talk to people about her business plan. While she searched for business partners, she met a boy named Rohit, another accused, who told her that he worked for HCL and was ready to invest in her business. Reports say that the girl was allegedly taken to an apartment in Dilshad Colony, where Rohit, and another accused named Rahul, raped her and shot videos to blackmail her. The victim has also informed the court that she is six weeks pregnant and wishes to abort the foetus.

Narrating her ordeal, the girl said the boys forced her to have sex with them and later, this became a gang affair. She was then sent to serve clients and the accused woman was always there in the apartment. The victim revealed that the accused lady used to get close to me, and when she refused, she used to hit her. Cases have been registered against Rahul and Rohit who allegedly aided the victim’s confinement and have been booked under sections of rape, illegal confinement and sections of the Immoral Trafficking Prevention Act.
