Former Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Akash Anand on Friday ruled out joining any other political party, saying the BSP is not merely a political organisation for him but his family. His statement came weeks after BSP chief Mayawati expelled him from the party and amid speculation about his political future. In a post on X, Anand directly addressed Mayawati, describing her as his political guru and inspiration. He said whatever he had learned in politics was under her guidance and expressed a desire to serve the BSP and its mission again under her leadership.

Anand also dismissed reports and rumours that he was planning to join another political party. He said he was “not going to any other political party” and added that the BSP was “not just a party” for him but his family. The former BSP national coordinator also apologised to Mayawati over his earlier silence on social media. He said he had stayed away from social media and could not repost one of Mayawati's posts, which, according to him, led to misunderstandings and fuelled speculation about his political plans. Anand said that if his silence had hurt Mayawati, he sought her forgiveness. He further said he wanted an opportunity to regain her trust through his conduct and work. Akash Anand Backs Mayawati's Action Against Ashok Siddharth

Anand also supported Mayawati's decision to expel his father-in-law, Ashok Siddharth, from the BSP. He said Mayawati's decision was appropriate and that the interests of the party and the Bahujan movement should take precedence over personal and family relationships. Anand said he accepted the decision and stood by Mayawati, stressing that the party's mission was greater than individual relationships.

Akash Anand Seeks Another Chance to Serve BSP

In his message, Anand expressed his desire to work for the BSP and the Bahujan movement again under Mayawati's leadership. He said trust could not be built merely through words and that he would seek to demonstrate his commitment through his conduct and hard work. He also referred to the ideological legacy of BR Ambedkar and BSP founder Kanshi Ram, saying his politics remained rooted in their mission and Mayawati's leadership.

Mayawati Expelled Akash Anand in September

Mayawati expelled Anand from the BSP on September 10, following a series of developments involving Anand and his father-in-law Ashok Siddharth. Before his expulsion, Anand had been removed from the post of BSP national coordinator. Mayawati had also criticised his conduct and said he needed greater maturity. Mayawati later said that neither Anand nor his brother Ishan Anand would hold a political position in the BSP. Anand's latest statement does not announce his formal reinstatement in the BSP. Instead, he has reiterated that he will not join another party and has publicly sought an opportunity to serve the BSP again under Mayawati's leadership.
