Bengaluru, October 16: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday released the list of candidates for the by-elections to three Parliamentary constituencies and two Legislative assembly constituencies in Karnataka. According to a tweet by ANI, the BJP announced its candidates for Bellary, Shimoga and Mandya and two Legislative assembly constituencies Jamkhandi and Ramanagram.

BJP candidate J Shanta will be contesting from Bellary (ST), BY Raghavendra will be contesting from Shimoga in the upcoming by-elections while Siddaramegowda will be contesting from Mandya. Meanwhile, from the Legislative assembly constituencies, Srikhanth Kulkarni will be contesting from Jamkhandi while L Chandrasekar will be contesting from Ramanagaram. Election Commission Tells Candidates Not to Send SMS or WhatsApp Messages to Voters From 10 am to 6 pm During Poll Campaigns.

The bye-elections in Karnataka will be held in Mandya, Shivamogga and Ballari Lok Sabha constituencies and Ramanagar and Jamkhandi Assembly constituencies on November 3. Apart from BJP, the JD(S) and Congress have also confirmed its candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha and State Assembly bye-elections.

For the Congress party, apart from the Jamkhandi Assembly seat, in which Congress lawmaker Siddu Nyamagouda died earlier this year, all the other seats fell vacant because of resignations. Meanwhile, tickets for the by-elections have been allotted within political families where Kumaraswamy's wife, Anita Kumaraswamy, has filed her nomination from Ramanagara.
