Lucknow, June 03: Review meeting of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) to discuss election results of 2019 Lok Sabha elections was held on Monday at the party headquarters. According to the news agency, no decision or discussion took place on the future of the alliance with the Samajwadi Party (SP). In the BSP review, meet issues of EVM’s were also discussed. Meanwhile, according to a report published in NDTV, in the meeting, the decision was taken by the BSP to contest 11 assembly by-polls alone. Mayawati was of the opinion that the alliance with the Samajwadi Party did not yield results because the Akhilesh Yadav led party failed to cut into the Yadav votes. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BSP and SP contested the general elections in an alliance. The third party of the alliance was RLD. The alliance managed to bag only 15 seats, out which SP won only five seats, while the BSP bagged 10 seats. The RLD failed to open an account in the elections. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured a resounding victory in the state. The saffron party won 62 seats, while its alliance partner in the state Apna Dal bagged two seats.
