New Delhi, August 30: A special CBI court on Friday once again extended custody of Former Finance Minister P Chidambaram for three more days in connection with the INX Media case. Chidambaram will remain in the Central Bureau of Investigation’s (CBI) custody till Monday, September 2. His custody was extended for four more days on August 26. On Thursday, Chidambaram had also challenged the Delhi High Court's rejection of his anticipatory bail plea in the top court. The apex court also reserved the petition of the Congress leader in which he challenged the August 22 order of the trial court remanding him to CBI's custody in the case. Meanwhile, the ED also told the Supreme Court that custodial interrogation of Chidambaram in the INX media case is required, otherwise, it would affect cases involving Vijay Mallya, Mehul Choksi and Neerav Modi. Both the investigative agencies are also probing role of Karti Chidambaram, son of former finance minister, in getting Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) clearance for INX Media in 2007.
