Results for the Coimbatore Lok Sabha Constituency in Tamil Nadu has been declared by the Election Commission of India (ECI). PR Natarajan of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). The counting of votes for the Coimbatore Lok Sabha Constituency began at 8 AM on Thursday, May 23. This is one of the 39 Parliamentary constituencies in Tamil Nadu which went to poll in the seconf phase on April 18. This constituency is the largest city of the Kongu Nadu region of Tamil Nadu and the district headquarters of the Coimbatore district.

The constituency number of Coimbatore is 20 and is not reserved for any category, which means this constituency falls into the General Category. This constituency represents the Coimbatore District and has 1,163,781 voters and consists of 1,163,781 number of electorates in totality. In the run up to the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and AIADMK alliance candidate CP Radhakrishnan has been given the ticket. Radhakrishnan is a former MP and was also previously the BJP’s state chief. Meanwhile, the CPM has given its ticket to its candidate P R Natarajan.

In the 2014 Lok Sabha Polls, Nagarajan P of the Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) party had won the Coimbatore  seat by defeating BJP candidate Radhakrishnan, C.P. AIADMK candidate Nagarajan had won the seat by 389,701 votes.
