Trinamool Congress Alleges Security Lapse and Conspiracy

The incident triggered sharp political reactions from Trinamool Congress leadership, who questioned the adequacy of protection protocols around the former chief minister.

Former TMC MP and the party spokesperson Saket Gokhale claimed, “A drug addict reached Mamata Banerjee’s residence today and tried to attack her with a knife. This is the condition in Bengal where even a Z+ protectee & 3-time CM is not safe. Was this a planned conspiracy by BJP because Didi is determined to finish them off in Delhi? A complaint has been filed.”

Former TMC MP Saket Gokhale, in a social media post, claimed that Mamata Banerjee was allegedly targeted by an individual who was under the influence of drugs near her residence. Police authorities are examining the scene, verifying security footage from nearby checkpoints, and reviewing access controls along the street leading to Banerjee’s Kalighat home.
