Manusmriti Row: Yogi Adityanath Attacks Rahul Gandhi, Says Congress Leader Disrespects Tradition (Video)

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a scathing attack on Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, accusing the Congress MP of making it a routine habit to insult India's rich heritage and cultural traditions. Addressing a public gathering in Raebareli-the parliamentary constituency represented by Gandhi-Adityanath responded directly to comments made by the Congress leader in Maharashtra, where Gandhi urged women to free themselves from the restrictions associated with the ancient text Manusmriti.

Adityanath questioned Gandhi's accountability as a high-ranking constitutional officer, stating that while the public holds no expectations from him personally, his position as Leader of the Opposition carries a duty to respect the country’s democratic values and historical roots. Taking his critique further, the Chief Minister claimed that Gandhi frequently targets national identity on multiple fronts, alleging that the Congress leader insults Uttar Pradesh when traveling outside the state, criticizes India when abroad, and directly or indirectly encourages anti-national elements in discussions regarding terrorism. Concluding his remarks, Adityanath suggested that if the Congress leader truly wants to understand ancient historical contexts and figures like Manu, he should study foundational ancient Indian texts such as the Atharvaveda, the Shatapatha Brahmana, and the Matsya Purana rather than making superficial political critiques.
