The Home Minister also pointed out that the Lower House had earlier discussed the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill during the ongoing session. He noted that Opposition members did not express views regarding the NEET examination during that debate, but emphasized that the government remains open to a fresh, dedicated discussion.

The initiative comes amid persistent disruptions in Parliament, where Opposition parties have been demanding a dedicated discussion on allegations of paper leaks, administrative irregularities in the NEET-UG examination, and police handling of recent student demonstrations.
The controversy has triggered widespread protests across multiple states by student organizations demanding thorough investigations and systemic reforms in national competitive testing processes. With the Home Minister's formal request now delivered to the Speaker's office, Speaker Om Birla is expected to coordinate with leaders of various political parties to fix the timing and schedule for the Lok Sabha debate.
