New Delhi, November 14: On the birth anniversary of Jawaharlal Nehru, India's first Prime Minister, Subramanian Swamy makes a controversial statement and said that Nehru has ruined the name of India in front of the world. According to reports, he said, "Nehru was the one, who took the Kashmir issue and highlighted in front of UN, it is because of him that the value India as a nation has diminished."  Last year as well, Swamy took a dig at Jawaharlal Nehru, and said that his contribution to the constitution was only Article 370.  Shashi Tharoor Repeats 'Chaiwala' Jibe at Narendra Modi, Remembering Jawaharlal Nehru, Draws BJP Fury.

In a video that went viral, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor made a controversial statement about Nehru. According to a video, on the eve of Jawaharlal Nehru's birth anniversary, Tharoor said, "If today we have a chaiwala as prime minister, it is because Nehru Ji made it possible to create the institutional structures through which any Indian can aspire to rise to the highest office in the land." In October, Swamy took a dig at economic policies of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government. When asked about whether Hindutva will counter demonetisation, GST, record fuel prices, the BJP MP said that the people in the Ministry of Finance were clueless. Swamy further added that traders are the bedrock of our Hindutva, but still they were hit severely by the economic policies of the government.
