Hyderabad, October 6: The Election Commission of India on Saturday announced the schedule of the Telangana Assembly Elections 2018. The voting in Telangana will take place in a single-phase on December 7, while counting of votes will take place on  December 11, when the final results will be declared.

Although the dates have been announced today, the Model Code of Conduct  was already imposed in the southern state last month, when Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao tendered his resignation. Full Schedule of Five-State Assembly Elections 2018.

While Telangana Elections were due next year, Chandrasekhar Rao dissolved the Assembly and called for early elections in the state. KCR also released a list of 105 TRS candidates for the Telangana polls. The polls in Telangana are likely to feature a three-cornered contest, with the incumbent TRS being challenged by an aggressive BJP, and a mahagathbandhan formed by the Congress, TDP and the Left. The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), which has tacitly supported the TRS, is contesting only in the seven seats of Hyderabad district.
