You would soon be able to travel from Mumbai to UAE by rail underwater. National Advisor Bureau Limited managing director and chief consultant Abdulla Alshehhi during the UAE-India Conclave in Abu Dhabi said that it will not be just passengers, but more projects are expected to materialise. There will also be an exchange of goods including oil between India and UAE.

Khaleej Times quoted Alshehhi as saying, "This is a concept. We plan to connect Indian city of Mumbai with Fujairah through ultra-speed floating trains. The project aims to boost bilateral trade. There will be the export of oil to India from Fujairah port and import of excess water from Narmada River, north of Mumbai. In addition, other GCC partners can also improve export and import." World's First Underwater Hotel cum Resort Will Open in Maldives by End of This Year.

He also said that the concept will take time to form as different aspects need to be considered. Mumbai and Ahmedabad are expected to be connected by high-speed rail corridor including undersea aspect by 2022. China has plans to connect Russia, Canada and the US.

Alshehhi said, "We will do feasibility study cities and countries. Abu Dhabi, the UAE capital, hosted a day-long conclave to discuss the economic relations between India and the UAE." Prior to the event, Deepak Lamba, President, Times Strategic Solutions Limited had said that the conclave was believed to be a platform to highlight investment potential in India and the UAE by creating awareness among investors about opportunities.
