It is believed to be the most auspicious time to conduct prayers during the entire day. In some regions, people also do balidan which means sacrifice. While animal sacrifices are done in a few places, people often ct vegetables like pumpkin or fruit to replicate the same. The ritual signifies getting rid of negative traits from oneself.
