Photo of an Indian-origin Sikh neuroscientist, who went viral for his colourful turban from a Pride event last year has grabbed the attention of the former United States President Barack Obama. Jiwandeep Kohli, who is bisexual had worn a rainbow-themed turban to San Diego Pride last year and posted it on Twitter; he re-shared it earlier this week marking June Pride 2019. The photo once again went viral with people praising his creativity. Obama shared Kohli's tweet with the caption, "You've got a lot to be proud of, Jiwandeep. Thanks for everything you do to make this country a little more equal. Turban looks great, by the way. Talking about the response on social media, Kohli said that the experience has been overwhelmingly positive. Some even asked him where they can get similar turbans for themselves. However, Kohli said that turbans are the responsibility for Sikh men and it is not about wearing a rainbow hat. He said, "I wouldn't want people to have the impression that I’m just wearing it as an accessory. A turban is a sign to the world that you’re a person the world can turn to for help." June LGBT Pride Month 2019 Marks Stonewall 50th Anniversary: History, Events, Parades And Celebrations Related to the Revolutionary Month of the Year.
