McDonald’s Becomes Wedding Venue
The couple’s decision to marry at the restaurant gave their coworkers an opportunity to play an active role in the ceremony. A co-worker baked the wedding cake for the event, adding a personal contribution to the celebration. The ceremony brought together the couple’s colleagues as they marked the occasion at the workplace.

How Jamie and George Met
The couple’s relationship began last summer when they met at Cedar Point amusement park. Several months later, they returned to the amusement park, where George and Jamie became engaged.
Jamie later moved to Akron and applied for a job at the McDonald’s restaurant where George worked. “I actually moved to Akron shortly after that and applied here as well and ended up working right alongside George,” said Jamie Emerson Callicoat. “We open together five days a week as of right now. I am actually training to be manager here now so my schedule is changing a little bit, but he is a regular opener at this store,”
The couple’s professional and personal lives have since developed alongside each other, with both working at the same restaurant.
Honeymoon Takes Couple Back to Cedar Point
For their honeymoon, Jamie and George plan to return to Cedar Point, bringing their relationship story back to the amusement park where they first met and later became engaged.
The amusement park, however, does not have a McDonald’s restaurant located inside its grounds. For the couple, the Akron restaurant instead provided the setting for another milestone, this time with their coworkers present to celebrate alongside them.
