Santlal Caught Sitting Under Fan Without Blanket? Viral Video Raises Questions Over His Summer Cold Claim
A new viral video has raised fresh questions over Haryana resident Santlal's claim that he feels cold during summer and heat during winter. The footage appears to show him sitting under a running fan without the blankets seen in his earlier viral videos, prompting social media users to question his extraordinary claims.
Weeks after Haryana's Mahendragarh resident Santlal went viral for claiming he feels cold during the peak of summer, a new video circulating on social media has cast fresh doubt on his extraordinary claims. The footage appears to show Santlal sitting comfortably under a running fan without the thick blankets he was seen using in earlier viral videos, prompting many online to question whether his unusual condition was genuine or staged. However, the authenticity and context of the newly surfaced video have not been independently verified.
The Original Viral Claim
Santlal had claimed that his body reacted to weather in the opposite way to most people, feeling warmth in winter and cold in the peak of summer. He was seen wrapped in two thick blankets even as temperatures in the district crossed 43 degrees Celsius, and said he sat in front of a bonfire whenever he felt cold.
He also claimed to have never suffered any serious illness in his life, and said he had experienced this unusual sensation since childhood. During winters, he claimed to lie on slabs of ice, bathe in a pond around 5 am, and spend most of the day in water. Villagers, District Administration Had Backed His Claims
At the time, villagers had insisted Santlal's condition was genuine and not an act, saying he had been this way since childhood. Santlal had also claimed that the district administration honoured him on multiple occasions and that a medical team had examined him without finding any clear explanation for his condition. Locals had nicknamed him the village's own "weather department." Tinsukia’s ‘Hall of Shame’ Goes Viral: CCTV Video of Littering, Public Urination Displayed on LED Screens.
New Reports Say Claims Were Staged For Attention
According to more recent reports, the entire narrative was fabricated as a cheap publicity stunt to gain fame. It has now emerged that Santlal reportedly put on the blankets only after cameras started rolling, undermining his earlier claims of an unusual physical condition.
Several media outlets that had earlier shared his story as a strange, real-life phenomenon are now facing questions over the lack of verification before amplifying the claims.
