A set of identical twin brothers proposed to their identical twin girlfriends together. Josh and Jeremy Salyers met Brittany and Briana Deane in last August at The Twins Days Festival in Twinsburg, Ohio. Their website says it is the "largest annual gathering of twins (and other multiples) in the world". While the Deane twins have been trekking to the festival since 2011, for the Salyer brothers it was their first time. While the sisters had been the brother at the beginning of the festival, they met each other only on the last day of the festival on its closing night party.

The couples are now planning a joint wedding. The proposal was quite a surprise for the women which the men had planned. The sisters Josh and Jeremy were told that they have been roped in to film a commercial for a property in Twin Lakes, Virginia. The boys came dressed up in coordinating blue ties while the girls did not suspect. They filmed all around the property and reached the last location. Then out of nowhere, the director yelled 'Action' and Jeremy and Josh both went on their knees and proposes to Briana and Brittany.

Briana said she has dreamed of having a double proposal and marrying twins since they were young. Briana said that it is a dream come true for both of them. The marriage is due for August this year. Also, the brides are planning identical wedding gowns and we think the guys will not be left behind.

Meanwhile, there are questions about how twins are conceived. Certain families, twins run in the family. It is generally the mother's family history that influences the chances of having twins. However, it is not  a need and any women can have identical twins without the family history playing a role.

Know how to increase chances of having twins:

  • There are higher chances of women who are a twin or those who have given birth to a set of twins again conceiving twins. The male influence is very less in this case however, there are chances that the fathers may pass the twin gene onto their daughters for future conception possibilities.

  • Being older among the sibling help which seems to be part of nature. A woman's ovaries start releasing more than one egg each month just before she enters peri-menopause. The fertility spike is inspired by estrogen and has been proven that it is common in women over 35 years. This applies only to non-identical twins.

  • Getting pregnant while on the pill can increase the chance as well. Try to get pregnant after you have stopped taking the pill.

  • While identical twins can occur in any family, coming from a family of non-identical twins will increase the chances of you having them yourselves.

  • Being of African or American heritage increases the chances of having a distinctly higher rate of twin pregnancies.

  • Women who have had a child or two previously has higher chances of having identical twins.

  • While the woman can take a folic acid supplement, encouraging the partner to take oysters due to its high zinc that helps with sperm production.

  • In some cases, a woman with Body Mass Index (BMI) higher than 30 has more chances of conceiving identical twins. According to some researchers, the fertile year is between 20-25 and 30 would put them in the overweight or obese category. The later is not considered a healthy recommendation.

  • Having fertility assistance such as in vitro fertilisation or taking fertility drugs make stimulate the ovaries to support more than one ovarian follicle each month towards maturity is also helpful.
