A 27-year-old man from Maharashtra, identified as Vishnu of Gaunagaon village in Nanded district, was allegedly beaten to death in Karnataka’s Bidar district over a suspected extramarital affair. According to the FIR filed at Chintaki Police Station, cops found Vishnu in a semi-conscious state with multiple injuries. He was first admitted to Chintaki Government Hospital and later shifted to Bidar BRIMS Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Vishnu’s mother, Lakshmi, said her son had been in a year-long relationship with a married woman, Pooja, who had temporarily returned to her parental home. While visiting her, Vishnu was allegedly confronted by her father and brother at a Hanuman temple, dragged outside, and beaten with sticks. A video of the assault went viral, showing Vishnu tied up and crying for help. Sections for murder were added to the FIR following his death, and both Ashok and Gajanan were remanded to judicial custody.
