The court made the above observation while quashing a case against a Swiggy delivery person who had accidentally mowed down a stray dog while delivering a food parcel.
The owners may treat dogs and cats as their children but dogs and cats aren’t human beings and hence a person cannot be booked under Sections 279 and 337 of the IPC pertaining to endangering a human’s life for a dog’s death, the Bombay High Court has held. The court made the above observation while quashing a case against a Swiggy delivery person who had accidentally mowed down a stray dog while delivering a food parcel.
